Editorial Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Number Customer Care publishes independent technology explanations and troubleshooting guides. This policy sets the standard for new and substantially revised articles. Older articles are being reviewed and may not yet meet every standard below.

Useful, accurate guides

A guide should answer a specific question, identify the product or platform involved, and give clear steps and limitations. We avoid unrelated background, repeated keywords and unsupported promises of a guaranteed fix.

Official documentation, help centres and product announcements are the primary sources for instructions and support options. A guide should link to the sources used. A support phone number should be included only after checking it on the company’s own website, together with its country, purpose and any published limitations.

We do not describe instructions as tested unless they were actually tested. A documentation review is described as a documentation review. If a software version, account type, region or device changes the steps, the guide should explain that difference.

Authorship and review dates

Bylines must accurately identify the author or publisher responsible for the content. Number Customer Care Editorial Desk is a publication attribution, not a claim that multiple editors or certified experts worked on an article. An older article is not attributed to a new individual solely because an account’s display name changes.

A Last checked date records an actual review of the information covered by that label. A publication date or a minor wording edit is not evidence of a complete factual review. Limited checks should identify what was checked.

Independence and advertising

We are not an official support provider for the companies discussed. An advertisement, sponsorship or affiliate relationship that materially relates to a recommendation should be disclosed. Advertising should be distinguishable from article links, downloads and official support options.

Maintaining older content

During the current review, older guides may be updated, combined with a more useful guide, or withdrawn. Product retirement, unsafe advice, incorrect support destinations and duplicates receive priority. Dates are not changed merely to make an article appear newer.
